Temporary school building due to fire damage to existing school for St. Antonius Abbot Elementary School in Eindhoven
The question
Fire in summer 2022 rendered existing school approximately half unusable and destroyed.
Eindhoven City Council subsequently determined that an accelerated new construction of current school should be realized due to already awarded nomination replacement.
The issue
A temporary bridge had to be built as soon as possible for all elementary school students, i.e. a complete temporary school building with all facilities.
At an early stage, the Municipality of Eindhoven itself selected a location and a supplier with the intention of completing this together.
Problem:
Surely too many unclear “gray” areas surfaced here, of which both supplier and client had too little know-how. In particular, the approach of the project sequence as well as the expertise of the total project to realize a complete temporary building were difficult for both parties.
With right structured approach.
From November 2022, we were approached by our client the Municipality of Eindhoven to act as project manager and to ensure that a project supported by all concerned could be realized as soon as possible.
Within a month, through proper management, agreement was reached for the correct plan and we submitted the applications for various permits.
We also analyzed the bottlenecks and at the same time started to tackle and solve them. With the solutions, the parties were further directed on the basis of project management.
From February 2023, supplier and third parties were able to start work. During execution, we supervised the total project as a supervisor.
Upon completion, we were able to hand over entire project to client
